Festival de’ Bardi van Nederland “Vil razza dannata jaar” is more than pleased to present:
Rigoletto Masterclass.
A week of voice training focused on and dedicated to young opera singers, and hosted by Istituto Italiano di Cultura, in the heart of Amsterdam. Featuring Italian tenor David Ciavarella and Teatro dell’ Opera di Roma’s vocal coach Sergio La Stella.
The program will explore and perfect the characters of Verdi’s Rigoletto. The Master-class will include
o Individual lessons
o Studying and practicing correct Italian pronunciation
o Vocal technique,
o Dramatic and musical interpretation.
This master-class will afford twelve of the participants the opportunity to debut in a fully staged performance of Rigoletto. This fully costumed performance will be staged with a mixed chorus and orchestra, in the major theaters of various Dutch cities from June 3rd to 9th, 2020, and will be followed by a series of concerts up to June 13th, 2020.
Double cast production once the master-class has concluded, the artistic director will assign leading and supporting roles, to twelve carefully selected candidates, ensuring at least two performances, one of which will be “Rigoletto for Schools". Additionally, the selected participants will sing in the choir during the alternative performance. The selected participants must be available for the entire period of the project (from May 26th to June 13th, 2020)
Chosen soloists will be reimbursed.
Participants of the master-class will attend a final concert on Saturday, March 7th, 2020.
Festival de' Bardi van Nederland is an international musical and cultural exchange organization. Its aim is to bring together singers, and choristers, conductors, and musicians, dancers, and actors, including students, amateurs and professionals from across the world.
Active participation fee: 300 euros (50 euros application fee included)
Auditors fee: 50 euro
Application Deadline: February 7th, 2020.
There will be a maximum of twenty-four places.
Duration: March 2nd to 7th, 2020.
Tuition fees cover the full program.
Tuition fees will not be refunded excepting in the event of the master-class being canceled.
Accepted applicants will be responsible for their own travel, meals, and accommodation. (We are making efforts in this direction so please check our social media for updates)
